Getting Started with Pixels
To embark on your Pixels journey, start by heading to the live game portal. You can connect via your MetaMask wallet or log in with your Phone or Email.
If you opt for MetaMask, you can use your NFT assets within the game. Don’t have any NFTs yet? No worries — customize a free-to-play character and dive in. For those owning integrated NFT avatars, you’re all set. There are even partnerships with over 50 NFT collections for added flair.
Mastering Gameplay
In-Game Tutorials
Upon entering, you’ll be guided through tutorials and quests. Barney, the farmer NPC, starts with the Farming Tutorial, teaching you farming, backpack item usage, and energy management. You’ll receive a 10 $BERRY reward and 6 popberry seeds, opening doors to more tutorials like the Plot Tutorial by Ranger Dale.
Planting Popberries
With your Popberry seeds, head to the Infiniportal in Dale’s office. Visit Farm#3056 to cultivate your crops. This Space Land offers various resources. Bookmark it for efficient farming.
Harvesting
After planting, wait a few seconds, water your crops, and reap the rewards.

“Land and Bookmarks” > “Go to Terravilla” is a common way to travel in the game.
Earning Your First $BERRY
The bustling heart of Pixels is Terravilla town. Here, players socialize, interact with NPCs, and trade resources for $BERRY. Use the “View Map” display to find your way. Buck’s Galore, on the eastern side of the town square, is your destination.
Meet Hazel at Buck’s Galore and sell your Popberries at 3 $BERRY each. This nets you 18 $BERRY to buy more seeds or unlock features. Keep repeating this process until you earn enough $BERRY to acquire a Chicken or Drill for resource gathering. You can also trade with fellow players via Buck’s Market.
Complete other tutorials (like woodchopping, cooking, and crafting) and aim for at least Level 5 for better rewards.
Virtual Plots in Pixels
The game offers three types of farmlands:
- Free Plots (Specks): Basic farming opportunities for 100 $BERRY each.
- Rented Plots: More freedom, higher yield, and decorative space. However, gains are shared with the landowner.
- Owned Plots (NFTs): Premium space, superior functionality, and the highest yield. Only 5,000 NFT lands exist, each with unique traits. Focus on those with high Coop, Windmill, and Tree Density ratings.
Recharging Your Energy
Before diving into in-game activities, replenish your energy. Visit Farm#3056 and look for the portal to the Sauna, where you can regenerate energy for free at a rate of 4 Energy per minute. Alternatively, use Energy Drinks to refresh your energy levels.
Pixels’ Tokenomics
The game operates with two tokens:
- $BERRY: The primary in-game currency earned through farming and resource sales, used for in-game purchases.
- $PIXEL: A premium token rewarded daily to active players, earned by completing daily missions and contributing user-generated content.
Both tokens have no capped supply. However, only 100k $PIXEL will be minted daily. As of now, the $PIXEL token is not yet available.
Moving to the Ronin Chain
In September 2023, Pixels made a strategic move from Polygon to the Ronin Network. Known for powering games like Axie Infinity, this migration promises a wider player base and an opportunity to swap your $BERRY for USDC on Ronin’s decentralized exchange, Katana.
